Jadey Memorial Park, Strathpine

Australian Reed Warbler, Stanthorpe, Qld (Acrocephalus australis ) © Norm Clayton

Some people may know of this area as “Grahams Rd, Strathpine”.  I discovered the existence of the region during a quest to find a Common Sandpiper last year and thought at the time that it would make a pleasant location for a BQ walk.  After all, there were reed beds, grassed areas, stands of scrub, a river, and vast expanses of sky, all rife with birding opportunities.  There was even a koala.  The paths are flat, some paved, some not.  The distance to walk is quite short.  There are no toilet facilities, but Strathpine Centre is a short drive away.
