It has been some time since we have visited this picturesque location which adjoins the Brisbane River, although it is no longer directly accessible. There are a couple of view points where we can scan some of the river, and there are some interesting areas of thicker scrub. Some of the site has formal gardens but most is more natural bush with a number of easy paths to follow.
There are picnic and toilet facilities but bring a chair and refreshment as well as the usual hat, sunscreen and insect repellant. It should take a couple of hours to cover a circuit of the area.
Directions: Travelling west from Brisbane along Ipswich Road, take the Francis Street exit and then veer right into Holdsworth Road and follow this through to Kholo Road at the top of the hill. Turn right (back over the motorway) and then left to Riverside Drive and continue 2.4km to the second entry on the right hand side. We will meet in the car park about 100m in through the gate.
