Paperbark Flats and White Rock Spring Mountain Conservation Estate

This is a an iconic Ipswich site on the Brisbane side of Ipswich that offers a wide variety of bushland birds:  eBird hotspot ‘White Rock Conservation Park’ –  https://ebird.org/hotspot/L968582/bird-list

It is a shady, easy grade 2 walk on unsealed, graded, undulating surface through mature forest, for about 1100 metres of the main White Rock Track. We will detour on return to do Six Mile Creek boardwalk with its huge stands of paperbarks. Two optional shorter but rougher walks with hilly sections to Little White Rock Lookout and Bluff Lookout, with differing, somewhat drier habitats, are also available.

Meet at Paperbark Flats picnic ground. After following School Road to the entrance to the Conservation Estate, ignore entrance and parking area on left, proceed straight ahead through yellow gates and downhill 150 metres to parking area on right.

Morning tea and bird call will be at Paperbark Flats picnic ground. Toilets and picnic shelters are available but bring own chairs in case of shortage of space in shelters.
