Birds Queensland is the registered trading name of the Queensland Ornithological Society Incorporated and our ABN is 43 891 564 740. We are a not-for-profit organization.
We are registered with the ATO as a charity for Tax-Deductible Donations, which can be given either:
- Directly to the Organisation, for its general purposes, or
- To our Research Fund, for funding Research Grants.
Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
The objects of Birds Queensland are to promote the scientific study and conservation of birds by all means possible, particularly birds in Queensland. Birds Queensland participates in projects to study particular species or survey bird populations in various habitats, particularly where that habitat may be under threat.
Each year, Birds Queensland offers small grants – currently up to $7,500 per project – for research projects undertaken by post graduate university students or university researchers, relating to birds and their habitats.
