Birds Queensland has produced an information sheet with advice on helping reduce the chances of birds hitting windows as well as what to do if you find an injured bird.
Did you know that in North America it is estimated that as many birds die by colliding with glass as are killed by cats. It is a very big problem in Australia too and one about which there is hardly any public awareness.
To help people address this problem, Birds Queensland has produced an information sheet that provides guidance on what to do in the case of finding a bird affected by such a collision and also contains some information on the bird-safe glass and window products that we are aware of. The information is presented as a permanent web page (which is found under the Conservation menu) and can also be downloaded in PDF format.
