Berrinba Wetlands

The wetlands are man-made, created by sand and mining operations after World
War II, and have largely remained untouched since the 1990s. Now it is 80 hectares
of natural beauty and recreational facilities. There are 430,000 new native plants,
100 nesting boxes for birds, possums and gliders, and 8 km of level and mostly paved
walking tracks and excellent facilities including toilets, playgrounds and BBQ shelters.

A variety of aquatic birds can be seen on the main lake. Whistling and black
kites are common along with the occasional Sea Eagle. Whistlers, Honeyeaters and
the occasional cuckoo can be seen depending on the time of the year.

Turn off Browns Plains Rd at the roundabout onto Wayne Goss Drive. The end of Wayne
Goss Drive is a loop so go either direction. There is a large carpark at the Interpretive
centre and toilets. The Main Lake and start of the walks are located here.
