Araucaria Track, Walkabout Creek Centre

The beginning of the Araucaria Track is located at Walkabout Creek Centre near The Gap. The track is generally flat and follows the shoreline of Enoggera Dam for most of the 5 km circuit. There are 3 moderate hills so the track is classed as grade 3. This is open eucalypt forest with some hoop pines. The track follows one of the reservoir’s peninsulas. The walk is shaded for the majority of the way. There is a cafe at the centre for those who wish to relax over coffee upon returning to the centre. Toilets are also located at the centre. Wear sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent and carry water. Bird call will be at Walkabout Creek Centre.

Walkabout Creek Centre is located at 60 Mount Nebo Road, Enoggera Reservoir, Qld 4520. From Brisbane take Waterworks Road to The Gap. Continue a short distance on Mt Nebo Road and look for the Walkabout Creek sign on the left. Turn into the centre where there are 3 car parks. Meet 7 am at the entrance to the Centre.
